Gold Museum

The Gold Museum is located in Bogota, Colombia. It displays an extraordinary selection of its prehispanic gold work collection (the biggest in the world) in its exhibition rooms on the second and third floors. Together with other pottery, stone, shell, wood and textile archeological objects, these items, made of what indigenous cultures was a sacred metal, testify to the life and thought of different societies which inhabited what is known as Colombia before contact was made with Europe.

In 1993 the Bank of the Republic began helping to protect the archaeological patrimony of Colombia. The object known as Poporo Quimbaya was the first one in a collection. It has been on exhibition for 65 years.

Botero's Museum

The art collection donated by Colombian artist Fernando Botero is considered the most important donation in the Country’s history. The donation was given to Colombia’s Central Bank and includes 123 works of art by Botero. The techniques used in such pieces are mainly drawing, watercolors, oil painting pastels and sculpture. The collection is displayed in the rooms of the former Luis López de Mesa periodicals library, which later came to be known as the House of Exhibitions. Monserrate

Monserrate is a mountain that dominates the city center of Bogota; it rises to 3,152 meters above the sea level, the church was started to build in 1620 and it finished in 1925.

The hill is a pilgrim destination, as well as a tourist attraction. In addition to the church, the summit contains restaurants, cafeteria, souvenir shops and many smaller tourist facilities. Monserrate can be accessed by aerial tramway, a funicular or by climbing, the preferred way of pilgrims.
All downtown Bogota, south Bogota and some sections of the city are visible facing west, making it a popular destination for watching the sun set over the city.

My experience at the Gold Museum
 And the Botero's Museum

My experience at the Gold Museum of Bogota was awesome, when I enter to the Gold Museum I saw a lot of gold articles, each article has a different and interesting history so I stay there for a long time, also when I didn't understand something the Gold Museum guides answer my questions and also they invited me and my brother to a fun activity in the fourth floor.

The activity consist in cut some papers and then paste it to the other paper, it was a really fun experience and when I finish doing that the Gold Museum Guides give me other activity paper to do in my home.

When I finish my experience in the Gold Museum I went to the Botero’s Museum, there I took many photos and also I observe the sculptures that Botero donate to the Republic Bank.

Finally I was so hungry so I went to Juan Valdez café and there I drink a cappuccino with a carrot pie, it really was a good experience.
